Hola a todos! so i think that its week 20 but im not sure haha. but either way im about a fifth of the way through! anyways this last week has been slow as far as missionary work goes, and i mean REALLY slow. we only had one lesson taught to an investigator with a member present the whole week! the ward here is really divided and nothing happens. theres no activities, no mutuals, no love. its really sad and really depressing at times. me and my companion have spent alot of time this past week talking with alot of the different leaders about what we can do to help the ward, and they all said activities! the sad thing is that when we brought it up with the bishop he had no faith in it. he has zero faith in the ward in general and he doesn't wanna use any of the money that the ward has on activities. my companion and i are going to try our best to work and help this ward as much as we can, but who knows if well do any good. anyways im doing good besides that! the work is slow but we still just keep trying as best as we can. me and my companion are getting along really great which is awesome! me and him have alot of nerf wars haha, we have a rule that the guns have to be put away when were studying otherwise we end up shooting each other haha. but yeah we get along great. really looking forward to listening to general conference this week! i think i might be able to watch it in english too! but well have to see i guess! anyways yeah that was my week! a whole lot of nothing sadly. well until next week! Week one with new companion.

Hi everybody! so not a whole lot happened this past week honestly. tuesday was a really interesting day though because the sunday before a guy came to church and said he was an ex missionary from the united states that was visiting his family here, and he wanted us to come visit them. so on tuesday with the help of a member we drove to a little ranch about 40 minutes away from la piedad called cruce de rojas. after calling the guy we talked to on sunday and following him to his house when we got there i was greeted by some big buff guy and i mean this dude looked built! someone told him that we were the mormons and he was just like oh the mormons! well im glad your here lets go eat. so they invited us into their kitchen and we ate with them after we had already eaten just two hours before, i thought i was gonna explode! but the whole time we were eating i was talking with the same guy who greeted us and i found out that he was from utah! he had lived in salt lake for 20 years! he spoke a little english but our whole conversation was in spanish. but yeah the whole family is pretty much from utah, only the guy that we talked to on sunday is a member though. and i tell you what that family was rich as well! they had like 4 ford lobos (f-150) and all of the uncles and cousins that we met were big buff dudes as well! me and my companion joked that they were a blessed family because of the one member that served. they said that they were gonna come to church on sunday but they never showed sadly. besides that pretty chill week. the other elders baptized someone on saturday! i dont know if i told you before but about 2 months ago some guy stopped his car in the middle of the street and started talking to me in english and was like hey your white what are you doing in mexico? and after i told him we were missionaries he was like hey can you guys come by sometime and do like a bible study? i had to give his info to the other elders because he didnt live in out area but anyways that guy ended up being baptized on saturday! and besides that the only other crazy thing is that we went to walmart today and i spent 450 pesos on a nerf gun haha, ill send pictures of it next week. i only bought it because my companion has a little one and i wanted to have one too so we could have wars and so for when he shoots me i can shoot him back haha. All is well here in mexico!! not alot going on sadly, the work is really slow here and there are so many people that dont come to church and its really sad. but im doing good and im staying happy and safe and having lots of fun! well until next week then! 3 months in La Piedad...

crazy to think that 3 months ago today i left the mtc in mexico city! man it seems like it was just yesterday and at the same time it feels like it was a lifetime ago haha, anyone wanna try explaining that to me? but this last week was pretty good i wanna start off by saying that i hadnt tried churros yet while i had been here strangely enough but yeah on monday me and two other elders i was in divisions with stopped at a place and holy cow they were good! like seriously it was five pesos for about a pound of churros and it was so worth it haha! but yeah monday after the activity at camecuaro, which by the way did i tell you i drank from there? with my filtered water bottle of course but still haha. after that we had divisions, so i went with elder conrad and elder gonzalez and we worked in zamora monday night and that went good. then tuesday we had our zone reunion and that was pretty good as well, really spiritual part was at the end an elder who is going home today gave his testimony and man that was moving! then after the reunion our district of 6 elders ended up eating at the stake presidents house! that was way cool and also some way good food! but coming home tuesday night our bus was stopped for about an hour because of a way bad crash that happened! i only saw one of the cars but what i saw was an f150 with the entire front left side exposed, tire missing and just everything torn to pieces, three different ambulances passed while we were waiting so that was a little scary! ended up getting home at 930 instead of 830 but we got home safe and sound thankfully! besides that the rest of the week was pretty normal i guess you could say. yesterday we had stake conference and that was good, and the best part is that our investigators showed up that had 4 attendances but now they have 5 so were planning on baptizing them on saturday!! so hopefully all goes well there! and lastly let me tell you about today! my companion said that my new companion was supposed to get here at 11 and after that he would take a bus to zamora. well the  buses were for 1050 or 1130, so he took the 1050 and i said ok i can wait ten minutes. then at about 1105 the zone leaders called and asked if we were on our way... thats when we found out we had a problem! i was supposed to go to zamora with my companion and meet my new companion there! so there were alot of people calling me and freaking out at that time haha. so i ended up going to where a member works close by and just waiting for an hour and a half with him while my new companion came to la piedad with elder horne and his companion, the other elders in la piedad. so yeah this morning was a little hectic and i can only imagine the look on my leaders face when they found out what happened! so yeah that was today! my new companion is Elder Antuno, he was Elder Hermmans trainer can you believe that! so far hes really cool but ill have to give him a week to really see. well love you all and hope all is well! have a great Week! hi everyone! so first off i just want to say that i dont have alot of time to write this week so if i dont respond to everyone im really sorry! ill try every week to respond to everyone but if i dont sometimes sorry! but this last week was pretty good! not a whole lot new happened but it was a good week thats for sure! on tuesday we went to a pizza buffet for our lunch! that was really good and both me and my companion ate a huge pizza by ourselves! and the horchata there was wayyyy good! also i guess another cool thing that happened is i bought a laser haha. the other elders in la piedad have an investigator who sells lasers and theyre way powerful! we get on our roof at night and so do the other elders in la piedad and we can see each others lasers from across the city haha! so yeah thats sweet. also yesterday in church i gave the closing prayer in sacrement meeting! the funny thing about it though was that apparently the bishop announced it right before we sang the final hymn but i didnt hear it, and when the hymn ended the guy sitting next to me was like hey you have to say the prayer! haha so yeah that was cool too. so yeah not a whole lot going on this last week but today was way cool! we went to a place called camecuaro and its just basically a big beautiful lake! we cant swim obviously but me and my companion played soccer with bunch of other elders there and yeah it was just a way cool place and a way fun day! thats also why i dont have a ton of time to write today either is because we got back kinda late. so yeah thats about it for this past week! its weird to think though that by the time i write next week ill have a new companion, or at the very least my other will be gone because i have no clue how divisions work haha. hope everyone at home is doing good! i love you all and miss you all and am always praying for you! also a scripture i wanna share this week is a really cool passage i found in st john 10. the whole chapter is good but verses 11 through 27 are what i really like! it just is interesting how much he talks about being the good shephard and it really just made me feel good to know hes there and that he loves us. well thats all for this week! love Elder Griffin
